A new vision for Sunday school.
For the last two years, we have been fortunate enough to have two teachers willing to commit to teach the entire Sunday school year. (Thank you so much to Bella and Christina!) Now that Christina has moved away for graduate school it opens up an opportunity for some holy experimenting.
Join our holy experiment.
We are looking for groups of 2 or 3 to commit to teaching Sunday school for one month of the year October - May (Note, December volunteers will oversee the Christmas Program).
This holy experiment will:
I envision parent/youth pairs, spouses, friends, a small group of parents, etc. The goal of Sunday school is for kids to engage with the bible stories and learn that the church is a welcoming place where they belong. You can be a part of sharing the faith with the next generation, and you don’t need any special qualifications to do it!

- Live out the promise we make in worship when we celebrate a baptism to support the parents in raising their child in the faith
- Give our kids the opportunity to get to know a variety of adults (and youth!) who are part of their community of faith
- Provide an opportunity for you to bond in a new way with family or friends as you lead together.
Church staff will provide:
- A curriculum with plenty of suggested activities to choose from so that you can pick what best matches your strengths (not crafty? That’s okay! You can leave that part out.)
- Any materials you request
- The guidance of Nicki McKnight, our Curator of Youth and Family ministries. Nicki can help you plan your month as much or as little as you’d like. She will meet with you before your month begins to encourage you in your planning and she or another trusted adult will be around to assist as needed
